Semaglutide (brand name Wegovy):

• Mechanism: Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It works by mimicking the effects of GLP-1, a hormone that regulates appetite and food intake.
• FDA Approval: It was approved by the FDA in 2021 for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight who have at least one weight-related condition.
• Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown significant weight loss efficacy compared to placebo. Participants typically achieved weight loss ranging from 12% to 15% of their body weight.
• Administration: It is administered once weekly via subcutaneous injection.
• Side Effects: Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation.

Tirzepatide (brand name Mounjaro):

• Mechanism: Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and GLP-1 receptor agonist. It combines the actions of both hormones to regulate blood sugar levels and appetite.
• FDA Approval: Tirzepatide has been approved by the FDA specifically for weight loss and is named as Zepbound.
• Clinical Trials: Early trials have shown promising results with significant weight loss similar to or potentially greater than that seen with semaglutide.
• Administration: It is administered via subcutaneous injection once weekly, but specific details will depend on the FDA approval and prescribing information.
• Side Effects: Similar to other GLP-1 receptor agonists, side effects may include gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea and diarrhea.

Consultation for the Weight Loss Program is a one time fee of $150

Packages for 4 shots (1 weekly) of Semaglutide is $350 (regardless of dose)

Packages for 4 shots (1 weekly) of Tirzepatide is $450 for the first 3 months and then it would be $600 from the 4th package onward (regardless of dose)

For our weight loss program we use compounded Semaglutide or Tirzepatide. These active peptides works mainly in the brain as an appetite suppressant, slows down digestion in the stomach (feeling fuller for longer) and insulin sensitivity (more insulin available for carbohydrate metabolism). In average most people lose 2-3 pounds per week with minimal side effects. Most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, and constipation.
